TEJAS - FROM DREAM TO REALITY!
Since the launch of the indegenously developed Tejas Aircraft, theres been a constant murmuring about it being an outdated one. People started making fun (which is obviously the DNA of the masses) of the efforts being put towards making Indias dream of making its way into the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) territory currently dominated by the western countries.
Efforts whether slow or fast will always lead to desired results but it should never stop, and this currently is the case with our country. Our efforts are on toward realisation of the vision of making our own Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft for the ever changing faces of threats we encounter on two fronts (Eastern and the Western front). I hope sooner or later we will thrive.
Tejas is the first Jet fighter after a 20+ year gap between Tejas and the Marut. And its being developed by an industry out of the third world, with limited human resources and budget at the time. Not to mention about the sanctions put on after the nuclear bombs went off.
You have to bite the bullets with these programs, And India cant afford to do license production of Russian or French things forever, which is basically building other peoples human resource and industry.
At this point i could clearly recall the instances with ISRO. Everyone used to make fun of its satellite programs during its early days after seeing constant failures, We see results now with successful cryogenic engine launchers, havier rockets being successfully launched, among others. This very solid foundation that we see today was built on failures.
Tejas is not a world beater, sure. But usually the FIRST THINGS BEING DONE ARE NOT! It will lead to bigger things. Right now it fits perfectly as a Light Multirole Low Tier fighter within IAF ranks.
