Paving the way forward! THE MARIGOLD STORY!

Image
Having a decade of experience from starting off as a drilling fluid engineer at Newpark Inc. to my endeavor in the world of business is in fact a sort of roller coaster ride. As is such that starting off from a very low capital investment is probably the most nightmarish thing that one can experience in the early years of building a business that too without any support as such. I have always been a dreamer! As an individual with a dream to living this precious life at own terms and building something that don't just seek for something rather having a distinct passion for providing bread and butter to several others in need is something that has always been in my sub senses! Almighty was kind enough for having given me the opportunity to build on dreams and paving a way forward. To live a life with dignity. The story of 'The Marigold Grand' is perhaps my third project as I had to drop the layer chicken farm project named 'Assam Agro Farms & Products' which idea ...

The Dream! Welcome Home "Big Daddy"

Image
We all have dreams. Dreams are basically the desires which we want to be fulfilled. If we want something with all our heart , we term it as our dream. Well , here , I am not talking about dreams which we see with closed eyes . I am talking about open eyes desire. Everything in the world have some limits. But the only thing which do not set limit is our dreams. For instance , a son of a poor rickshaw puller dreams to ride horse or expensive cars. And I believe , once you dream it you can surely achieve it. And if someone will ask me , “what is dream??” then I'll define it as the journey from a desire to get to actually having it . And coming to the question , Is dream to be lived or fulfilled ?? my answer will be , that you have to live your dreams to fulfill it and also fulfill your dreams to live with that. And once u will fulfill it , it will not be your dream anymore. It will be a success. Celebrating 10 years (2014-2024) of my professional freedom with this 4×4 white beast ...

MITNE WALA MAIN NAAM NAHI!

Image
Holding a few dreams in my fist and a pocket full of Hope, the heart desires only... TO DO SOMETHING, TO DO SOMETHING. I do not shine like the sun but light like a lamp... I do not shine like the sun but light like a lamp...   From lighting up my own boundaries... for how long you can stop me! For how long you can stop me! I am not that tree, whose had the best of soil and water! I am not that tree, whose had the best of soil and water! I was raised by barren soil and had snatched away life from the death. I am the words written on stone. I am the words written on stone... for how long will you try to break me with glasses!? My name is not erasable! (Mitne wala main naam nahi)... for how long you will be able to stop me?! Stop me! Crimes and cruelties in the world do not exceed my limits to tolerate. Crimes and cruelties in the world do not exceed my limits to tolerate... In the midst of the noises from taunting I still have the habit to stand by the truth. I am deeper than...

AS I REMEMBER HIM! (Parag Da)

Image
“It's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years” The above quoted line perfectly aligns the life of parag da (Parag Kumar Das) who only with a lifespan of 35 years became a voice against the odds in the state,  a helmsman of Journalism in Assam. His campaign to restore Human Rights is credible of its own kind. The torchbearer of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) , his battle was one to safeguard the rights of the indigenous people such that they can exercise their own rights. Being the editor of ‘Budhbaar’ and ‘Aagan' he waged a long war against all the glitch disguised as anti - insurgency acts towards our assamese people by the centre. He was critical of the ULFA too and stood staunchly against the outfit. His unprecedented voice was tried many a times to be dabbed underneath the extremities but he rose out strong everytime. Finally he had to succumb to death when some unknown assailants slayed him on broad daylight on 17th May, 1996 Thou...

THE STRONGEST CONVICTION!

Image
Yes, we can! What does it take to start your own venture? A brilliant idea? A great team? Money? Yes. All of those things. But more than anything, what it takes  is a belief. A belief that there is significance to the problem being addressed and that the solution is something that the consumer wants. From my experience, it is always a demand and supply gap that needs to be addressed. It is really amazing to see how most large companies have such humble stories of starting up. All of them started with nothing but just plain conviction and the strongest one "Yes we can!" . I started off my career from drilling in the rig for a period of two whole years(2013-2015) to being engaged in an R&D project as an assistant, that too for a period of two years, which ultimately doesn't strike the right chord in my mind as since childhood I had this intense feeling of doing something for my own self and something which I could sustain as well provide livelihood to few others in ord...

ONE ASSAMESE FAMILY 👪

Image
There is yet another ingredient in the greater assamese saga, a belief that we are all connected as one people . If there is a child on the most interior part of Majuli, who can't read, that matters to me even if it's not my child. If there is a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for their prescription drugs and having to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poor even if it's not my grand parents. If there is an immigrant Bangladeshi family being rounded up without the benefit of an attorney or due process, that turns down my civil liberties ...... It is that fundamental belief that  " I am my brother's keeper, I am my sisters keeper that makes my state works" . It's what allows us to pursue our individual dreams and still come together as one assamese family 👪 ----Spondon Dhekial Phookan      Chairman  SPCL, SPVPL

THE WOODS ARE LOVELY!

Image
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep...” Those were the words of Robert Frost. They are close to my heart. Sometimes I feel that they were written for me. Not just me. but for all the risk takers/business owners/ entrepreneurs/ job creator's  around the world. Because it talks about the key to success and that’s why i am here today after long time to share some personal thoughts... The Key is Perseverance Perseverance is the continued effort to achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. We’ve seen it all through history. We wouldn’t have the freedom and independence today if thousands of people weren’t committed to fighting for the freedom regardless of the obstacles they faced, or difficulties they encountered. We wouldn’t have the light bulb, penicillin, and the things we take for granted these days if someone wasn’t committed to inventing it aft...
